 2. as (~이므로)

3) since: 상대가 알 만한 뻔한 이유나 추론의 근거를 나타내는 종속 접속사이다. 통상 문장의 앞에 쓰인다.

Since she is ill, I can’t take her with me. (그녀가 아프기 때문에 그녀를 데려갈 수가 없다.)
4) for: 이유를 부가적으로 설명하는 등위 접속사로서 항상 주절의 뒤에서만 쓰인다. 구어체에서는 좀처럼 사용되지 않는다.

We can’t go out, for it is raining. (우리는 밖에 나갈 수 없다. 왜냐하면 비가 오고 있기 때문이다.)
